The TIM-01 combines a serial IEEE 1451.2 (Dot 2) Transducer Interface Module (TIM) and a wireless IEEE 1451.5 (WiFi Dot 5) in one package (pair of boards). One board acts as the interface to the local network/bus (e.g. RS232 or WiFi) while the other provides the sensor signal conditioning and data acquisition functions. In addition a prototype Dot 4 data acquisition section is provided. All TIMs have multiple inputs and outputs (channels) as a part of the demonstration kit.
